about us

Hands Engaged in Local Public Service (HELPS) is a NOVEC supported effort to gather organizational resources and engage employees in projects that target community needs. It was established to benefit the community NOVEC serves. In 2010 NOVEC HELPS was incorporated and in July 2010 became a 501 (c) (3) organization by the IRS.

Who We Are

NOVEC HELPS is an organized and dedicated volunteer effort. NOVEC employees along with their friends and family annually volunteer their own time and finances to many area nonprofit organizations.

What We Do

NOVEC HELPS supports and sponsors a wide range of non-profit charitable, civic, educational youth activities in Northern Virginia. From feeding the homeless and supporting emergency services, to raising funds to fight diseases, NOVEC HELPS has been there.

Nonprofit organizations in NOVEC’s service territory are welcome to submit request for HELPS volunteer or financial assistance. Please review the volunteer guidelines before submitting a request.

Board of Directors

The HELPS Board of Directors is comprised of 20 members and officers. Officers serve staggered, two-year terms. The offices of chair, secretary, and publicity chair are elected on even-numbered years and vice chair, treasurer, and activity chair are elected on odd-numbered years.
